Want a Job in the NBA? Show Your Face – NBA Training Camp Course Starts Oct 1
Getting a job in the NBA
One of the first things Daniel Marks (Milwaukee Bucks / Howard University) says when he speaks at one of our courses, “Everyone should turn their cameras on.”
*
Each thing you do opens another door. Our NBA Training Camp Course begins next week. Signing up for it exposes you to NBA personnel and others on a similar track as you. Turning your camera on allows the speakers and students to get to know you. Asking questions shows your engagement.
Saying it’s your dream to work in the NBA does very little.
Signing up for a class and not turning your camera on or asking questions does little.
But being an engaged student who takes advantage of opportunities and builds relationships can open many doors.

I often get asked about opportunities around the League. And the first people who always come to my mind are those who’ve not only taken a course with us, but those who have come to class prepared with cameras on and asking insightful questions. Match that with putting together some of your personal content and portfolio and it’s easy for me to recommend you to a team in the League.
When I was trying to get my foot in the door in the NBA, one of the first things I did was to sign up for an on-line course. And when I showed up, I took it as seriously as I could. I asked questions. I engaged with the other students. I went into detail on projects. And when an internship opportunity became available to interview with the Celtics… my teacher (Frank Burlison) sent my name in. He said he had noticed the questions I had asked and how seriously I had taken the course and was able to recommend me. That interview led to the next interview with the Trail Blazers where I was ultimately hired.

I couldn’t be more excited to share that our students are now or have worked with the Pacers, Mavs, Heat, Nets, Spurs, USA Basketball, ESPN, Mexico City, 905, Windy City and more.
We would love to meet you and see you at our next Course!

“John Ross is a real, authentic, and genuine person that I have no doubt will continue to change lives and basketball careers with his willingness to share his experiences in the game of basketball. I can confidently recommend John’s classes to anyone looking to advance their career or their knowledge about the industry because John has dedicated so much of his professional life to helping others reach their goals. Few people do that, and even fewer do it as well as John. For that reason, I’ll always support Get In The Game!!”
“This course connected me with talented peers and people who have been where I want to be. They teach a great course and I'd sign up for it again.”
“I gave up on my dream of working in the NBA a long time ago - money and free time are too important to me to give up - but I still nerd out about the NBA draft and prospect evaluation in my free time. The subject matter of this course was fascinating to me and even though you branded it toward job seekers, I think hobbyists like myself can really find value in the way that you ran things. Thanks again!”
