Should I apply for NBA internships if they are listed for college credit only?

Short answer: yes

If an NBA internship is listed for college credit only, it’s likely because they don’t want to pay you. Making it for course credit allows the team to get around this boundary.  But that doesn’t mean you are disqualified from the opportunity. In fact, my first internship with the Trail Blazers was as an unpaid intern working for ‘college credit’ even though I already had a degree and had graduated from University.

When an NBA internship is listed for college credit only, everyone still has a chance for that internship.

If you are currently in college, talk to your professors and student advisor to see if there is a course you can get credit for by taking the internship, whether it’s for a summer internship or year-long. Oftentimes, there is a course you can take and then they will have you write a paper / report on your internship.
