I took part in some on-line courses to help me get an NBA job when I was looking.  And for me, they were helpful.  I did some projects.  I met some people in the Industry I would have otherwise.  And I gained some knowledge and skills.

All of that helped lead me to an open door.

On the flip side, there were 15+ people in those courses, many paying upwards of a $1,000+ and no one else got the opportunity I did.

As more and more on-line companies started popping up, promising jobs in professional sports, I decided to take a different approach.  Enjoy the journey, because you’re probably not going to get the job.

And as I’ve said before, that doesn’t mean not to give it everything you got, it just means there are a limited amount of positions and it’s possible you don’t get one.
