As I’ve shared previously, I always did my best to navigate long hours and no holidays while also making loved ones and family a priority.

I may not have been 100% successful in that but now reflecting on my 15 years in the NBA, I can say if I regret anything, it’s that I didn’t make even more time for my family and loved ones.

To be honest, I always saw my Trail Blazers family as family.  And some of them truly are.  But on the other side, as soon as I was fired, many of them, I never heard from again.  Relationships that I thought existed outside of work and basketball, did not.  That’s been a bit tough for me to swallow.  This thing, these people I gave so much for… well, it’s all a game for some.
