On my journey to working in the NBA, I was lucky enough to be able to seek some advice from the Vice President of the Orlando Magic, Pat Williams. He was gracious enough to take my call and then told me I could call him back (to apply for a job) when I had my Masters.
I appreciated his advice.
But that wasn’t my journey.
I talked to other teams and landed an Internship with the Blazers (and got my Masters later).

To be honest, I casted Pat’s advice aside. He was basically implying to me that unless I had a Masters, I wouldn’t be able to get hired.
I respected his advice, respected the time he gave me and moved on to what was best for me.
