Behind the Article: I’m Not a 9-5 Guy

One of the things I always say is, “The important thing is that you are involved in basketball somewhere.”

When I was helping to hire and interview prospective Interns for the Trail Blazers, we often looked on them more favorably if they did have a full-time job outside of basketball while simultaneously working in basketball.  It showed passion.  It showed the ability to multi-task.  It showed a love for the game.

It’s easy for people to say, “Hire me, I love basketball!”
