Behind the Article: Do You Love It?

People used to ask me, do you get tired of watching basketball games?

As a Video Coordinator, I was often watching upwards of 5 basketball games a day.  I always responded, “No, I love it.  Every game, every matchup is different and I love it.”  This was true for me for about 13 years. 

But then the pandemic hit.  Then one of our Video Coordinators died by suicide.  Then more and more pressure was being put on the Video Coordinators.  And for me, the love ended. 

It was now a job.  A job where I worked for people who didn’t seem to value human life.
